The CW has released the official synopsis for "The Last Dance". This episode is the 60's themed Decade Dance I spoiled about earlier. It is scheduled to air April 14th after The Vampire Diaries retruns from there short break April 7th. In addition, I have some fabulous HQ stills to share featuring Elena~Nina Dobrev and Stefan~Paul Wesley.

  • As the high school prepares to throw a “1960s Decade Dance,” Elena (Nina Dobrev) starts receiving disturbing messages from Klaus via an unusual source.
  • Bonnie (Katerina Graham) tries to reassure Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) that she is strong enough to help Elena, but a worried Jeremy asks Stefan (Paul Wesley) for advice.
  • Caroline (Candice Accola) talks Matt (Zach Roerig) into taking her to the dance.
  • Expecting Klaus to show up at the dance, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Alaric (Matt Davis) attend as chaperones, but Klaus is playing a complicated game that keeps them on edge.
  • Finally, Damon comes up with a new plan of action that shocks and upsets everyone.

The Vampire Diaries Episode 2.19 Spoilers Klaus' Sparkling Debut

The LA Times chatted with The Vampire Diaries EP Julie Plec about Klaus' April 21st debut. Plec teased the return of Trevor, via a flashback, and gushed spoiled about Joseph Morgan's Klaus.

“We will be seeing Trevor again this year,” executive producer Julie Plec revealed.

“It's Episode 19, which is the first time we meet Klaus,” explained Plec. “We're also going back into the past.”

Morgan “can handle the weight and the gravitas that Klaus needs, but he's also got these dimples and this grin and this sparkle in his eyes,” she said. “You always need your villains to have multiple layers and to be able to kill you with kindness as much as they can kill you with violence. I think Joseph really represents that.” She adds that casting someone relatively unknown to American viewers gives the producers some exciting advantages. “We've been talking about [Klaus] for 15 episodes, so we really wanted to make it feel like it was something new for the audience.”
