Vampire Diaries Episode 2.10 "Sacrifice" Spoilers~Elena Gets One Step Closer To The 'Originals'

Vampire Diaries Rose Screen Captuers

It's already been spoiled that more doppelganger hijinks would hit TVD soon, but with Elena impersonating Katherine this time. Well, now we know when. According to our source, in episode 10 entitled "Sacrifice", Elena and Rose fortuitously come across an opportunity to get one step closer to the 'Originals'. While doing a believable impersonation of Katherine, Elena gains the info she needs about a certain Adrienne. But in true TVD style plans go south quick and someone ends up with their heart ripped out, literally.

What we know.

  • Our plot thickens with pages from the book series, naming Klaus as our big bad.
  • Elena is a Petrova Doppelganger and she must be sacrificed to break the sun and moon curse, presumably so that these 'Originals' can reek some serious evil havoc.
  • From the dialogue of "Rose" we can gather that there are several of these 'Originals' running around, and thanks to Elijah, we now know that you can't kill them the conventional way.
  • In next weeks episode, "Katerina", we'll learn more about the Petrova History and Katherine will broach the subject of Elena turning into a vampire.
Is Adrienne an 'Original', or is he just working for one?
What your take on this new spoilery info?

Vampire Diaries Season 2 Annual Christmas Marathon

THE VAMPIRE DIARIES” WEEK-LONG MARATHON,
BEGINS MONDAY, DEC. 13

The CW to Rebroadcast the First 10 Episodes from the Sophomore Season,
Airing Two Episodes Each Night (8:00-10:00p.m. ET/PT) From
Monday, Dec. 13 through Friday, Dec. 17

November 4, 2010 (Burbank, CA) ? The CW Network today announced plans for a special marathon week featuring The Vampire Diaries, starting on Monday, December 13. For the second year in a row, this week-long event offers fans the opportunity to catch up with season two of The Vampire Diaries and allows the uninitiated the chance to get into one of TV’s breakout hits.

Airing two episodes each night from Monday, Dec. 13 through Friday, Dec. 17 (8:00-10:00p.m. ET/PT), The CW will rebroadcast the first 10 episodes of the second season of its addictive hit The Vampire Diaries across its entire primetime schedule that week, beginning with this season’s explosive premiere. The Vampire Diaries is The CW’s most-watched and highest-rated series among adults 18-34 this season.

The Vampire Diaries is the story of two vampire brothers obsessed with the same beautiful girl, and battling to control the fate of an entire town. During season one, Stefan (Paul Wesley, “Fallen”) and Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder, “Lost”), returned to their hometown of Mystic Falls, Virginia, for very different reasons ? Stefan was determined to get to know Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev, the upcoming film, “The Killing Game”), who bears a striking resemblance to Katherine Pierce, the beautiful but ruthless vampire the brothers knew and loved in 1864, while Damon was intent on releasing Katherine from the tomb where he believed she was trapped by a witch’s spell all those years ago. In season two, the appearance of the villainous Katherine in Mystic Falls has thrown a wrench into the love triangle between Stefan, Elena and Damon, and the other residents of Mystic Falls must choose sides as they fall victim to a new breed of danger.

Based on the series of books by L. J. Smith, The Vampire Diaries is from Bonanza Productions Inc., Outerbanks Entertainment and Alloy Entertainment in association with Warner Bros. Television and CBS Television Studios with executive producers Kevin Williamson (“Scream,” “Dawson’s Creek”), Julie Plec (“Kyle XY,” “Wasteland”), Leslie Morgenstein (“Gossip Girl,” “Private”) and Bob Levy (“Gossip Girl,” “Privileged”).

Vampire Diaries Episode 2.09 "Katerina" Promo

Executive producers Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec are taking our story straight from the book series this season, revealing our big bad as none other than Klaus. We only have a few more episodes left before the holiday hiatus, but judging by the CW's spoilery promo below, the plot is only going to thicken ;).

Vampire Diaries Episode 2.09 "Katerina" More Photos

Earlier I spoiled one flashback still, featuring Katerina Petrova, for episode 9 of "The Vampire Diaries". Thanks to Bloodfalls, we now have a gallery full of spoilery goodness for "Katerina" :). After seeing these I'm completely on board the Jeremy/Bonnie bandwagon. I can feel the chemistry through the photo, but new student Luka might be a third wheel. We also get a first look at the dynamic between Damon and his temporary fix, Rose.

Vampire Diaries Episode 2.09 "Katerina" First Look

Thanks to Keck's Exclusives we get to see our first look at 15th century Katerina Petrova. In another fabulous flashback episode, we'll see Katherine in 1492 Bulgaria, before she became the seemingly self-consumed manipulative temptress of present day.

Vampire Diaries Katerina

"We find out how she became a vampire and what led her to become the person she is today — a selfish, maniacal woman who only looks out for herself," says Nina, who was born in Bulgaria and speaks Katherine's native tongue. How she's turned is a big secret, as is the identity of a new menace we'll meet from the same era, who will journey to present-day Mystic Falls.

"This villain has ties to the deep, deep past of the vampire legend," teases executive producer Julie Plec. "And then in our last episode before the holidays [December 9], we'll finally see poor Tyler Lockwood's torturous transformation into a werewolf."
I'm over the moon about this episode and can't wait to see how much of the book they bring into their mythology. It sure sounds like the real big Bad of season 2 is Katherine's maker(Klaus), renamed of course.
What are your thoughts?
