Vampire Diaries Episode 2.11 "By The Light Of The Moon" Julie Plec Talks Fall Finale, Plus HQ Promo

Jim Halterman did a post "Sacrifice" interview with Executive Producer Julie Plec where she dishes on the fall finale of "The Vampire Diaries". She talks Klaus, Delena, Steferine and much more.
JH: Do we know when Klaus will finally appear on the show?

JP: No, no. The mystery of when we are going to meet him for the first time will be on-going. I think on the casting side it said a specific episode but that was just procedural. That has nothing to do with reality.

JH: And what’s Damon’s part in next week. Is he protecting Elena?

JP: Yeah, it deals with him having to live up to his promise to make sure Elena is protected and the way he chooses to do that is kind of funny. Funny and a little bit Damon-mean as far as Elena is concerned. It gives Damon a good laugh at the way he’s able to keep Elena from getting herself into any trouble. There’s also a new character coming to town named Jules (Michaela McManus) who comes looking for her friend Mason Lockwood and when Damon catches wind of that he realizes he has a problem that needs to be dealt with because, of course, as we know, Mason Lockwood is no more so he has to put the kibosh on the search for him.

Vampire Diaries Spoilers Casting Scoop; A New Hottie In Mystic Falls

I have a casting scoop from Eonline to pass along to the vast "Vampire Diaries" fandom. Stephen Amell has joined the cast and will play an old friend of Mason's. More hotness in Mystic Falls, what's a girl to do...

Photobucket

Insiders confirm to us that a young actor named Stephen Amell has joined the cast of CW's The Vampire Diaries as a character with a connection to Tyler's (Michael Trevino) gorgeous uncle. So who is this new kid, exactly, and what role does he play in Mystic Falls' ongoing werewolf-vampire shenanigans? Here's what we can reveal:

Producers tell us this about Amell's character: "Stephen plays Brady—an old friend of Mason Lockwood who blows into town with a vengeance. [He's a] loyal friend or your worst enemy depending on who you are. Did we mention he was hot?" (We believe you about the hotness—good looks and the werewolf gene are quite obviously linked!)

Look for Brady to appear in two episodes, one of which is filming right now.

Vampire Diaries Episode 2.10 and 2.11 Michael and Candice Tease 'Painful' Transformation

Earlier I spoiled the first part of an interview with "The Vampire Diaries" Michael Trevino~Tyler Lockwood and Candice Accola~Caroline Forbes. Good news Forwood fans, we have part 2 of Zap2it's interview with Michael and Candice to share. They tease Tyler's transformation and how 'painful' it will be for him and the Monster duo also chat about relying on each other for support.
In tonight's Dec. 2 episode, Tyler and Caroline begin to make preparations for the first full moon since Tyler triggered his curse. In the Lockwood's cellar, they'll find evidence of werewolves past, and the restraints used by centuries of cursed Lockwoods... and they'll make a terrifying discovery that will leave both of them fearing for their lives.

The transformation itself sounds scary enough. "You're going to see, it's just a constant thing that he's fighting as he's going through it," Trevino says. "It's long and it's painful."

The wait is finally over and a brand new episode of "The Vampire Diaries" airs this Thursday! To get us ready for "Sacrifice" the Los Angeles Times Show Tracker snagged a juicy spoiler filled interview with Executive Producer Julie Plec. She divulged six teasers for the next two episodes, that will take us into the much dreaded holiday hiatus. Enjoy fellow TVD fans, I know I did ;)!
Vampire Diaries Season 2 Episode 10 Sacrifice

The blood diet: Last time Stefan (Paul Wesley) drank human blood, we saw a not-so-pretty side of him. This time around though, he's going for moderation and “is approaching this very strategically and very methodically.” But it's something more powerful than planning that will keep Stefan's blood thirst at bay: Love.

“One very telling thing that he said two episodes ago was that he has something else to live for,” says Plec. “The difference between last year and this year is last year he didn’t believe he deserved Elena’s love. ... Right now we’re at a place where Stefan has come to terms with some of his demons and is feeling very strong in his love for Elena and is confident that she loves him in spite of their current relationship problems.”

She adds: “For a while, we’re going to see him very functionally manage this consumption because it’s actually a really smart plan.”
Death is not the end: Although she wouldn't divulge details as to the who or when, Plec did answer in the affirmative when asked if we might see a killed-off character again.

Vampire Diaries News: The Ian Somerhalder Foundation Seeking To Inspire Today's Youth

Zap2it's Carina MacKenzie had the pleasure of chatting with Ian Somerhalder about his new foundation, IS, and what his goals are. He talks about a global change and empowering today's youth to step up and make a difference.
Photobucket

"There's Generation X. There's Generation Y. This generation is Generation Extinction," Somerhalder tells me, calling from his home in Atlanta as he feeds his beloved cats. "This generation holds that in their hands - the responsibility of it, and the power to change it. They have the ability to make the changes for themselves and for their environment. It's pretty badass, if you think about how much they can do."

The IS Foundation's main focus, as Somerhalder explains, is habitat - meaning preserving and restoring the flora and fauna essential to the planet's biodiversity.

"We're getting involved with what Conservation International is doing," says Somerhalder. "They were really the inspiration of this whole thing. Without biodiversity everything falls apart, and we're destroying it. By preserving it and helping to recreate it, and helping stop deforestation and start reforestation, this is what I mean by habitat."

Vampire Diaries Spoilers Kevin Williamson To Develop New Companion Series

"The Vampire Diaries" is a major hit for the CW and Kevin Williamson, along with Julie Plec are the masters behind it all. Multiple sources have confirmed that Executive Producer Kevin Williamson is in serious negotiation with the CW to develop a companion series to TVD.
Photobucket

The new show would not serve as a spin-off and would probably not feature any characters from The Vampire Diaries. But it would be based in a similar, supernatural world, as Deadline Hollywood describes the proposed series as "The X-Files meets Buffy the Vampire Slayer."

It would revolve around a team of researchers that investigates unexplained phenomena. To put it in more modern teams: Think Warehouse 13 meets Fringe.

Reports also state that Williamson would work with fellow Vampire Diaries producer Julie Plec on the pilot, which would premiere on The CW next season.

As if this news isn't exciting enough, remember: The CW is also likely to air Secret Circle some time in 2011, a show based on another series of books penned by Vampire Diaries scribe L.J. Smith.
