The Vampire Diaries Spoilers Ian Somerhalder Spills About Damon's Humanity And Elena

The charming Ian Somerhalder spoiled to the TV Chick about Damon's Humanity and of course, Elena. "The Vampire Diaries" returns tonight on the CW with "The Descent".

How do you think he’s changed and evolved since day 1?
Wow. A lot actually. It was kind of crazy for me initially. I realized what was going to make Damon interesting was to make sure that he was conflicted and he’s starting to feel things that he hates. He doesn’t like feeling anything for anyone, because then you’re [taking] a risk. There are stakes. And when there are stakes, you risk losing something and that’s just something he doesn’t want to do. And it was really counter intuitive for me initially because I was so used to him being just a bad guy, to sort of layer in or to have these layers, was difficult for me. (Laughs) And I was kind of worried. I was like “wait a minute! Damon’s going soft!” And then he tries to kill Jeremy and I was like oh yeah, never mind.

How do you want to see the Damon and Elena relationship progress?
I just want to make out with her eventually. I mean, Stefan gets both of them. And I just think it’s time pay the fiddler. I have no idea how that’s ever going to happen, by the way. That’s a joke. I would just like to see him be in her [good] graces. I would just like for her to see that he’s not such a dick. But the problem is that he is. So, I don’t really know where I want that to go. All I know is that I want him to protect her. Because if something happens to her, then we lose the show, and then we’re screwed.

(laughs) Do you think Damon wants to save the day and be the hero?
Not really. No. I think he’s become the unlikely hero and it drives him up the fucking wall because it’s just too much. It’s one of those situations where it’s too much work being the hero. And also, it lends itself to not being fun — the social or family or love responsibility are the antithesis of selfish and free lovin’.

The Vampire Diaries Spoilers EP Julie Plec Talks to The TV Chick

The fabulous TV Chick was recently on the set of "The Vampire Diaries" and had a nice sit down with EP Julie Plec. She dishes about Delena, Stelena, Bamon and much more.

And I thought one of the most heartbreaking scenes was when Damon compelled Elena and admitted his love for her. What we can we expect with Damon’s humanity? What can we expect from the Damon and Elena relationship evolving?
The big problem with Damon is that when he feels too much, he doesn’t want to feel anything at all. And the miracle of Damon this year has been after coming out of the gates in the first episode really really acting out very badly and lashing out with his pain and his rejection and 145 years of grief, he’s done a lot to not let himself lose control like that again. And it’s because of the intensity of his growing feelings for Elena. But as he said to her in that episode “I don’t deserve you…yet.” It’s funny because yet was implied. Because the truth is right now, here’s where I get shot, he doesn’t. Yet. So their relationship in my opinion is all about the yet. And the when. Because when he deserves her, which he’s working very hard to do, then there’s a conversation to be had about what the two of them could be together.

We started this season with Stefan drinking Elena’s blood. Is that going to come back to haunt him or haunt them as he drinks more human blood?
Not at the moment. I think that in its own way, it was a smart choice. He’s come to terms with all his demons from last year and all the guilt that lead him down that road and Stefan’s issues with blood were psychological and emotional. And drinking small tiny amounts every day with the trust and the commitment of your one true love to build up the strength so that you never have to worry about becoming that guy, I think we want to see if we can deliver on that. However, a complication to that is of course now that we’ve learned that originals can compel vampires. With Elijah in town, so willing to rip off Elena’s necklace, and chuck it aside, she should be sipping on that vervain be now. She should have been sipping on that vervain by episode two. So I think that he might have to stick with the Capri Sun blood bags for a while.

The Vampire Diaries Spoilers Nina Dobrev and Candice Accola Tease TVD's Return Tonight

Candice Accola and Nina Dobrev tease the return of "The Vampire Diaries" tonight on the CW. They dish to the TV Squad about Werewolves, Klaus and to expect anything and suspect everyone.

The Vampire Diaries Spoilers Klaus Has Been Cast!

Ausiello has spoiled that the long search for oldest Original, Klaus, is over. "The Vampire Diaries" is very close to signing Joseph Morgan, an English thespian, to play the baddest of the bad.

Sources confirm to me exclusively that English thesp Joseph Morgan is nearing a deal to join the cast as the oft-referred-to-but-never-seen member of the Originals.

Joseph who?! I’ll get to that in a second, but first you should know that Morgan’s near-casting caps a months-long manhunt for Klaus. In a recent interview with EW.com, exec producer Julie Plec estimated that more than 100 actors across multiple continents had read for the part. Plec also hinted that despite fans pitching some big-name actors for the role — Jason Dohring, Henry Cavill, and Gale Harold to name a few — they would likely hand the plum part to a relative unknown.

The Vampire Diaries Spoilers A New Werewolf In Town Spells Trouble

TV Guide has some spoilery goodness of the werewolf variety to share with the "The Vampire Diaries" family. Looks like the arrival of another new werewolf to Mystic Falls will bring even more destruction and mayhem down on our players and Tyler will find himself torn. Michaela McManus~Jules dishes and EP Julie Plec confirms :).

Tyler, on the other hand, is a bit hesitant to forge a friendship. "He, like the audience, is wondering who this chick is. He's skeptical and a little weary, but I think he trusts her because he was so close with [his uncle] Mason and he's discovering so much right now," the former One Tree Hill star says.

Of course, Damon has no intention of letting Jules hang around. McManus says the two will absolutely butt heads, while executive producer Julie Plec adds that the "vampire/werewolf conflict is about to go from simmer to a boil." "[Jules'] altercation with Damon is sticking with her and she's not too happy. Now that she's aware of Tyler's true identity, she's going to start filling his ear with some things," Plec says.

To add fuel to the fire, Mason's old friend, Brady (Stephen Arnell), will come into town and bring destruction, McManus says. "Along with the danger he brings, he also answers some questions for the audience as to where these people are coming from."

But Brady won't be the only one wreaking havoc. Plec says there will be another full moon before the season's end, during which "bad, bad things are going to happen."

Since McManus shared that she filmed a scene coming out of transformation, we can only imagine what or who she destroys in that time. "She discovers the damage that's been done overnight — which is something that [werewolves] go through," she says. "She's come to terms with being cursed and this is her life."

The Vampire Diaries Spoilers Damon Has Walls And Issues, But Really Just Wants to Make-Out

"The Vampire Diaries" is rooted in a love triangle premise, but it seems Damon gets left out in the cold a lot. Ian Somerhalder spoiled to TV Guide about Damon's personal growth, issues and his love for Elena, shedding some light on Damon's decisions.
"I just want to make out with her eventually," Somerhalder jokes.

Damon finally told Elena he loved her, but he soon compelled her to forget, making it not count, Somerhalder says.

"The love Damon has for Katherine and Elena has gotten him into exorbitant amounts of trouble and I think he's probably thinking ... 'I've kind of learned my lesson, I'm going to build a bit of a wall, '" Somerhalder tells TVGuide

Regardless, it's undeniable that Damon has made quite the transformation throughout the series, and has developed, shall we say, feelings. The softer side is Somerhalder's biggest challenge.

"It's tough because there has to be truth and there's a lot of real pain buried in that humor," he says. "The maniacal killer in him is starting to wane by virtue of the fact all the stakes have been raised because he cares about people now."

The Vampire Diaries Spoilers Paul Wesley Dishes About Lust and Love

In a fabulous interview with Zap2it Paul Wesley~Stefan Salvatore of "The Vampire Diaries" talks about his dark, lustful past and what that means for his future. He also spoils about the upcoming romantic getaway with Elena~Nina Dobrev.
Photobucket

In the present, Stefan has found a temporary fix for his blood addiction, as Elena (Nina Dobrev) has been slowly feeding him her own to build up his tolerance and quell his cravings. Back in 1864, however, Stefan hadn't yet learned the careful control that rules his life now.

Grinning as he always does when he's talking about Stefan's dark past, Wesley says, "We'll get some blood addiction going in the 1860s. It's awesome. It's a drug. He's a drug addict. I get to play a drug addict, which I love. I'm going back to his days of usage, heavy usage." He laughs. "When I'm in my lustful state, it's so much fun. I felt like I got to play a role that I'd never played before. I felt like I was doing something different. I just love it, and I hope it comes out the way that I envisioned."

Stefan isn't the only one with secrets in his past. When Stefan and Elena, newly reunited, decide to get out of Mystic Falls, they get more than they'd bargained for. "We take a romantic weekend that goes awry," Wesley says. "Come on. How can it not? They need a break from all the chaos, and they just want to be a normal couple that goes on a nice little vacation. Of course, danger is pursuing them."

Seriously... when isn't danger pursuing Elena?

"There are some unexpected surprises at this lake house," he says. The place belongs to Grayson and Miranda Gilbert, Elena's deceased adoptive parents -- so there's plenty of history lurking.

The Vampire Diaries Spoilers New Winter Premiere Promotional Posters

Thanks to the CW and Judy Yam we have a batch of absolutely stunning Winter Premiere Promotional Posters to share with the "The Vampire Diaries" fandom. They feature the lovely Nina Dobrev~Elena Gilbert & Katherine Pierce, Michael Trevino~Tyler Lockwood, and Matt Davis~Alaric Saltzman.

The Vampire Diaries Spoilers Michael Trevino Dishes About Love And Danger

Michael Trevino gave Kristin the dish on kissing Caroline~Candice Accola and the werewolf/vampire tension that's just over the horizon. "The Vampire Diaries" returns this Thursday with "The Descent".

Romance-wise, Michael tells us, "Me and Candice are really good friends, we're close, we have a blast on the show. And this season has been really fun because we have a lot of scenes together, and it's just joke after joke after joke. And it's good whenever—working with her is just so easy, and she's so talented and I just like the chemistry we have on screen." So what was it like when Tyler kisses Caroline this week? Trevino tells us it was a bit like kissing his little sister and that, "This kiss—you can tell by in the teasers of that episode that airs this week, it's not the type of romantic, passionate, long, soap opera kind of kiss, Tyler is just overcome with emotion and he just goes in for it. So it's funny how the end of that scene plays out and it's good, it's a good awkwardness."

As for the coming conflict between the werewolves and vampires, "The truth comes out is really all I can say. The truth finally comes out. It's all put out there once this information comes out...and some relationships change." Ruh-roh. We're sensing that there might be a schism coming between Tyler and Team Salvatore, meaning all the people who have kept Stefan and Damon's secret and collaborated with them, including Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Bonnie (Katerina Graham).

For that matter, the adorable Caroline-Tyler friendship might not be long for this world. Trevino tells us, that when the truth comes out, "There's going to be some conflict and some relationships kind of often end after that."
